What is CNCA 06?

CNCA ( California Northern Coastal) Area 06 is one of six General Service Areas of Alcoholics Anonymous in the state of California, covering 21,427 square miles of coastal counties from the Oregon border in the north to San Luis Obispo in the south. [Map of the Area].

CNCA serves more than 60,000 AA members in 23 Districts. Each DCM  – District Committee Member of our 153 Sub-Districts serves more than 2,100 registered groups through their GSR – General Service Representatives. The Districts and the Area communicate through liaisons with the Central Offices/Intergroup Offices within the CNCA boundaries, as well as with the autonomous Northern California Hospitals and Institutions Committee.

Each month, one of our eight area officers visits each district in Area 06. In addition to monthly district and sub-district meetings, communication throughout the area is enhanced by four annual assemblies organized by different districts, monthly area committee meetings, and our monthly newsletter, CNCA Comments and Comentarios, which is published in both English and Spanish. Both versions of the newsletter are available on the CNCA 06 website. You may register to receive them by email on the home page.
